摘要:

Image inpainting is an important subject in image processing, and many efforts have been devoted to modeling, theorem and numerical analysis in this active research area. Elastic bending energy has been widely used to describe the shape transformation of biological lipid vesicles. In the paper, we propose an elastic bending total variation model by combining the elastic bending energy and the total variation term (TV) (i.e., elastic bending-TV) for image inpainting problems. The elastic bending-TV model is expected to preserve the shape boundaries of the inpainting images since the elastic bending energy is a fourth-order equation. The energy stability is theoretically proved based on the scalar auxiliary variable method. The adaptive time-stepping algorithm and FFT are introduced to improve the computational efficiency. Numerical experiments illustrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm and verify the superiority and capability of our model on image inpainting.

张茜,哈尔滨工业大学(深圳)助理教授,硕士生导师,深圳“鹏城孔雀”特聘岗位C档。2019年获得我校计算数学博士学位,后入选2019年香江学者项目赴香港理工大学进行博士后研究。20227月入职哈尔滨工业大学(深圳),主要的研究方向是非线性色散方程的保结构算法,基于变分的图像处理方法等,成果发表在SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, SIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences, Journal of Computational Physics等期刊。
